Schools' and Young Persons' Campaign

 Southend on Sea Schools' theme is "Grow Your Own Lunchbox"

 

SCHOOLSJudging is the first week in July. Judges will be in touch later this month  . . . 

Grow a colourful display of edible plants that are ideal for including in a lunch box, contributing to the '5 a day' target for healthy eating. There should be a variety of salads or vegetables that the children will enjoy tasting as well as growing.

In addition, SIB promotes the use of recycled and composted materials as part of the project. Entrants are encouraged to think about water conservation, making use of water butts if the site permits. 

Judges will be looking for good horticultural techniques, healthy produce and evidence of the children's involvement.This should be presented as a short portfolio of no more than eight pages plus cover which is given to the judges when they visit the school.

Lunchbox Art.

Create a two dimensional piece of art no bigger than A3 and no smaller than A5 based on the lunchbox theme. This may include drawing, painting and /or collage.

The entrant's full name, school  and year group should be written on the back of every entry please.

Judges will collect the artwork when they visit the school.

Final closing date for entries has expired.

Judging will take place first week in July

 (portfolios and artwork are returned to schools at the Award Ceremony in September.)
